1. What this site is

Steel & Sole is an independent editorial site publishing research and opinion about work footwear. It is published by Magoo Media Group. It sells nothing, holds no inventory, and is not a retailer, a manufacturer or an agent of either.

2. We have not worn these boots

Content on this site is compiled from published manufacturer specifications, consensus safety standards, institutional research and aggregated owner reports. Steel & Sole has not physically tested, worn or worn out any product described here, and nothing on the site should be read as a claim that it has. This is stated on every page and set out in full on how we research.

3. Safety and compliance disclaimer

Nothing on this site is safety, compliance or legal advice. We explain what safety designations such as ASTM F2413, ASTM F3445 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.136 certify, but what your workplace requires is determined by your employer's hazard assessment and by the regulations applying to your site, industry and jurisdiction.

Always confirm your footwear requirements with your employer or safety officer before purchasing. Never rely on protective footwear as your primary control for any hazard — in particular, electrical hazard (EH) footwear is secondary protection and does not replace de-energizing, lockout/tagout, insulating equipment or arc-rated protection.

4. Medical disclaimer

Nothing on this site is medical advice. Pages discussing foot, knee or back pain, plantar fasciitis, flat feet, prolonged standing or cold injury are general information only. No footwear described here treats, cures or prevents any condition. If you have pain, numbness, swelling or any other symptom, consult a podiatrist or a doctor.

5. Accuracy and changes

We take care to cite specifications accurately and to record the date each was read. Specifications change, models are discontinued and standards are superseded. Always confirm current specifications with the manufacturer or retailer before buying, particularly where a safety designation matters to you.

We make no warranty that the content is complete, current or error-free. If you find an error, tell us and we will correct it.
